The Pancham Family

Hello everyone...

This is Yogesh Kumar...and here is first post on this family blog. Here I would be sharing all about our family and relatives. Though I dont know full lineage of this family as we come from a lower middle class family and in those times there were no means to keep records or I should say these people were not so important that their records would be kept.

Sri Pancham Singh

So, I call my family The Pancham Family...Pancham is the first name of my father and I think whatever recognition or uplift we saw in our family it started from him...and whole family always looked upto him whenever there were a moment of crisis.

So, my father Sri Pancham Singh...was born in a small village called Noorpur in district Etawah of Uttar Pradesh on 15 July 1954. He was the youngest of among three brothers and since childhood was very much inclined towards education. Without any proper guidance he somehow managed to complete his schooling then went on to complete his graduation with science subjects. Ultimately he got appointed as a medical inspector in UP health department. It was a government job. His first posting was in Banda, then he got transferred to Akbarpur(kanpur Dehat) and in the meantime he got married to my mother Kamla Devi.
A series of bad events kept him away from his home village, the family people who were in villages had no business other than fighting with each other over land or other petty issues....Once these everyday fight took a bloody turn and my father's elder brother lost his life if that. Few months after this incident my grand-mother also died. Probably it was at this point my father decided not to take his children to his village ever....so as long he was alive none of us has ever visited that village. Though people from village used to visit us on several occasions and even my father used to go there whenever it was needed.
All those years he kept the village business only to himself. Since childhood only village that we used to visit on our summer holidays was the home village of my mother. And for us children...our nani(maternal grandmother) and Nana(maternal grandfather) were the only elder figures we knew or associated with. I have very sweet memories of those times when we used to visit our nani's house....i often think of that period and very much miss it. Now that place has lost its charm...My Nani is a very prominent figure in our family so I'll talk about her in detail in other post.

So, this is like a brief introduction of The Pancham Family. We dont carry any surname to our names thats why my father's first name is our family identity.
